elements beneath the sky...

Owning 2 masks - featuring my true self & the other self... I've drifted from the normal path. Juz some thoughts, opinions, complaints, gossips, bullshits... beneath the boundaryless sky that we share.

Name:

I am... by my own standards... a simple, sincere, average-looking scopio who can be both quiet and crazy; one who needs time to warm up to people; a homebody; sometimes impatient and stubborn, and erm, a mech engineer who doesn't look and sound like one.

With people leaving, comes clearance...
With clearance comes extra items on my desk...
One new thermal mug, one ultraman notepad box, one wireless mouse, one 'A' decorative item...

Divine Indication...

A stork upon being freed from captivity could fly to the four cordinal points, only the sky is the limit.

One's thought is just as above. When one's on a smooth road, so is one's desire. So too, is a man of ease.

FedUp

I could have pretended I didn't hear it.
I could have handled it better.
I could have taken it in my stride.
But I didn't.
Composure a little out of control.
I don't deny.
Lose my cool with a rampant rant.
"I usually don't listen to bullshits..."
Overheard or not, I don't care.
Yup, quote me... I don't really give a damn.

WE WON $2k+!!!

I must say the AH brochure was misleading. I was almost tricked and had to explain the marketing gimmick to my dad. The negative remarks on some forums also made me a little skeptical about it.

My parents have been sourcing around for a TV after our old Sony decided to retire some time back. They went to a few places to 'research/bargain' for the best price for Philips 42PFL9532 Full HD LCD TV (with Perfect Pixel HD Engine, 2-Channel Ambilight, 100Hz, 3ms response time, 3x HDMI inputs). In the end, my dad went ahead to buy Philips 42PFL9532 from AH since they were able to give us a price that is S$449 off the anniversary promotional price offered by Courts. Seriously, we have no idea what we should do with the extra FREE 20" LCD TV... to avoid all the fuss, my dad sold it to AH for S$400 cash.

The lowest price and their willingness to buy the 20" LCD made the deal. Not this 60% rebate gimmick - this is only something additional. Despite so, we do look forward to the draw and guess what... we WON $2,370!!! woo hoo... Though it's in voucher, this amount come in really handy as we do have quite a bit of old electrical appliances to replace. Will update later on what we buy... yippee!

The Law of Attraction

I was introduced to many laws and theories throughout my long educational journey.
This is, by far, the hardest to grasp.
The Law of Attraction, in essence:
What You Think Is What You Get.

According to Jim Rohn, one of the world's leading motivational speaker, philosopher and entrepreneur:
Success is not to be pursued;
it is to be attracted by the person we become.

Your reality represents what is going through your mind and subconscious mind. Your attitude will be reflected back to you by the attitude of those close to you and around you on a daily basis.

Perhaps most engineering-trained pple like me will settle for something that's more scientific-based than belief-based (Hence, I'm not surprised why some of my colleagues even joked about it once in a while). I believe this law of attraction only to a certain extent -- I believe in the need to flood my mind with positive, motivating thoughts and feelings. However, I feel that what you think may sometimes not be what you get because of our own actions, actions of those around us, the law of karma, etc. will also come into play.

Today, I lost my Badge & access card before lunch time. I reported the loss to the security, got the temporarily pass, and somehow didn't really give a damn. I'm not sure why. Along the way to lunch, WF & ZY triggered some thoughts in me by joking about the Law of Attraction and suggest that I think about getting my badge back. On a serious note, within me, I did think and hope someone would pick it up and return it to security. But I have doubts though and I played along... told them that I could visualize the return of my pass... even held out my hands and I told them that I could feel my pass already. They laughed and told me not to think too much in case I go crazy (走火入魔). Of course I won't. Subconsciously whether I did continue to think or not, I have no idea. We changed topic and discussed what to eat, etc... bought our food and got a seat. Within five minutes after we sat, an unfamiliar guy walked towards me and returned me my pass. I was grateful and yet shocked at the same time. Amazing. Is this the result of the 'Law of Attraction'?!? I've to be very frank, I'm still unsure but I guess I won't dismiss it entirely.

My First 10km Run

I didn't plan to run this year.
I didn't have time to train for it.
I didn't want to screw up with a bad timing - just wanted to achieve my personal best.
I couldn't find a motivation to run.
I can probably come up with 101 reasons not to run.

And yet I did my first 10km run for two main reasons:
One, I'm standing in for a colleague who couldn't make it (for claiming of registration fees) - I would have rejected it if my 姐妹 Linda is not there to run though.
Two, I'm there to accompany Linda - for the whole 10km, we were mostly jogging/walking side-by-side. Nice feeling to be able to complete smth with her again.

Next year, I will either aim for a better timing for 10km or perhaps aim to complete 21km... who wants to join me?
