elements beneath the sky...

Owning 2 masks - featuring my true self & the other self... I've drifted from the normal path. Juz some thoughts, opinions, complaints, gossips, bullshits... beneath the boundaryless sky that we share.

Name:

I am... by my own standards... a simple, sincere, average-looking scopio who can be both quiet and crazy; one who needs time to warm up to people; a homebody; sometimes impatient and stubborn, and erm, a mech engineer who doesn't look and sound like one.

Still at work...

Okie, now I know the central aircon supplied to the lab switches off at midnight. I just realized how noisy the AHU is. The lab is so quiet till I feel a little uneasy. So I actually blast the music out from my headphones to keep me company. Poor me, still working at wee hours... Okie, back to work. Sometimes, I think I will have not much of a problem with jet lag.

Got a catch...

Haha... after dinner, Xian and his colleagues went to the game arcade. Xian caught these little tots from those UFO catcher/crab or grab machines (whichever you call them) four out of five tries (80% success rate). Wow, I didn't know he's that good. Impressed! Hmm, I'm just wondering how much attention he attracted during and after the catch (imagine a guy with these four cute thingy in his hand). Hee... will make him catch some for me when I'm there. =)

Bothering perfectionalism...

While I try to keep my perfectionist tendencies in check, my internal alarm kept buzzing for a few days last week after I discovered mistakes in the printed and binded documents. I have checked for the appearance of blank pages (due to the possible "sucking" in of more than one pieces of paper by the stupid laser printer). I have checked that the alignment is okay. I have checked the spacing of the characters... okie, basically things that cropped up on me before, I've helped to double check. Three copies of two hundred over pages... I have to be very frank to say that I didn't look at every single printed pages. Everything looked fine in my PC. It's PDF some more (less likely of distorted alignments, etc.) But why some characters were replaced by chapalan cheena characters were really beyond my comprehension. It just really happens that those pages I have scanned through didn't have any errors in it. Anyway, it's too late... Though there're some elements of guilt in me, I kept brainwashing myself that mistakes like this will happen once in a while. Frankly, I wouldn't "outsource" such stuff to anyone cos I still trust myself (perfectionalism in practice).
"hack care... hack care... Fret not gal."

For a moment... I wonder...

I wonder how...
Will our journal paper be accepted?
How will be the comments like?

I wonder why...
Y.J. asked me if I want to join in their karaoke session without telling me it was to celebrate K.P.'s last bachelor's nite until I ask about it. Anyway, I am seriously not interested in the beer-drinking fun-fare and am not interested in sharing their bills. Plus, why is a gal doing at a bachelor's last nite? I'm not exactly feminine doesn't mean I'm a "buddy"... =) Most importantly, I've got better things to do... yeh...

I wonder when...
When will everything be over?
When will I sunbathe/idle/play/eat/have fun/day dream/sight-seeing/trek with Xian in US?

I want to be a skywalker...

Pictures and articles from Los Angeles Times

GRAND CANYON, AZ - MARCH 20: VIP's and members of the media and the Hualapai tribe take a preview walk on the Skywalk, billed as the first-ever cantilever-shaped glass walkway extending 70 feet from the western Grand Canyon's rim more than 4,000 feet above the Colorado River, on March 20, 2007 on the Hualapai Reservation at Grand Canyon, Arizona. The building of the Skywalk on Hualapai Indian tribal land 90 miles downstream from Grand Canyon National Park has stirred controversy with some tribal elders and environmentalists who have condemned it as a desecration of a sacred American landscape. The $40 million glass and steel platform will open to the public on March 28 when visitors will be allowed to take the lofty walk at a cost of $25 per person plus the cost of a Grand Canyon West entrance package, a total of about $75.

Forget about the environmentalists... what's done is done...
Need to save up... cos I wanna be a skywalker... =)

Little Sparks...

Bought a cake to celebrate Linda Aunt's birthday last Sunday

Our yummy steamboat dinner fest... last Saturday...

Eh, none of us knew what this "horny" little fellow is...
So I did a search and realize that it's a treehopper.
These pics are taken using the hp camera (that explains the horrible macro quality).

Here's a much much better pic taken by tchuanye

There is a lot in the saying that
absence makes the heart grow fonder.
