elements beneath the sky...

Owning 2 masks - featuring my true self & the other self... I've drifted from the normal path. Juz some thoughts, opinions, complaints, gossips, bullshits... beneath the boundaryless sky that we share.

Name:

I am... by my own standards... a simple, sincere, average-looking scopio who can be both quiet and crazy; one who needs time to warm up to people; a homebody; sometimes impatient and stubborn, and erm, a mech engineer who doesn't look and sound like one.

Miracles

  • My cold & fever miraculously disappeared after two days.

  • Xian is at his fittest after ORD – he actually passed his IPPT.

  • I jog continuously for 45 mins last evening - very slow one though (perhaps you can do a brisk walk beside me, hahaha)... feels good though.

  • In the past, I always find it a stupid act to sit and watch 22 men running after a ball for 90 mins. Now, I'm beginning to enjoy and appreciate the game. On top of the swift beautiful passes and shots, there are beautiful men for my eyes to feast on... hoho... ;p

Teamgeist ball design distraction

All because of Kenny's nonsensical comical tips to DIY a low cost Teamgeist look-alike ball with the help of Kotex, we're now distracted everytime there's a close-up on the Teamgeist Ball. BLAH...

No parking / No goal / No smoking...

Disabled parking out of reach
It's amazing to see the disabled parking lot in SimTech always occupied by different cars on different days of the week. Correct me if I'm cock-eyed, but I don't see any handicapped parking labels on those cars. Well, I sincerely hope it is because these people have taken turns to ferry a wheelchair-bounded colleague to work... and not because they think their cars are bigger and more expensive than the others and thus needed an exclusive or larger than normal parking lot. Hmm, or perhaps there are just too few disabled parking lots for too many handicaps working there (sarcasm intended). I just hope it's not because of a handful of irresponsible jerks who do not welcome any visits by anyone in wheelchair.

Betting on zero goal
Zero goal usually have a higher returns if I'm not wrong. However, if you intend to watch a match, my advice is "Don't bet on zero goal". It's so stupid to be watching a game and praying for lousy strikers who could never find the net and good defenders and sharp goalkeeper to keep balls out of the net.

"eh eh eh... Phew, lucky no goal"
"no no no... wah, heng ah, this keeper/defender good man"
"kelong striker... but I like it"

Another reason is, once any one side conceded a goal, you can tear away your betting slip and switched off the tv... and sometimes it can really be fast (one goal after a mere few minutes into the game). Be like me, just enjoy the game and don't bet. Btw, I realize I can watch all live matches for free, courtesy of Indonesia's SCTV - thks thks... ah boy is the happiest of all (school holiday implies he can watch any matches he wishes to).

Ban smoking
I just love the gahmen for extending the smoking ban to all food outlets come 1st July. Woohoo... *clap hands*

Over here at this stupid campus, it is also supposed to be smoke free...

To protect non-smokers from second-hand tobacco smoke, smoking is prohibited at all enclosed or air-conditioned buildings, halls of residence, canteens, cafes, lecture theaters, sports and recreation premises, stairwells, and washrooms in the university. Smoking is also prohibited at any queue of two or more persons in a public place such as a bus stop. Any person caught smoking at these areas can be fined up to S$1,000 by law.

... but somehow we have a handful of stinkers here who choose to smoke inside the poorly ventilated staircase. Maybe they find it a waste to discard the aromatic second-hand smoke and decided to recycle by inhaling them again. It's actually none of my business if they so choose to kill themselves faster but when I'm the user of that staircase, I will make sure no one smokes inside there.

The staff working here must have been excellently trained in 're-arrowing' (experience tells me so). So efficent that a letter I wrote to feedback this problem to the relevant person-in-charge gets re-directed somewhat to the person-in-charge of "cleanliness" who then re-direct the arrow to the cleaners by notifying me that they will get them to clean up the ashes left behind by those morons. What the fish!

The woman in specs

After rebonding, Alan told me that I should just switch to contact lens. Hmm... indeed, the specs on my face and my neat, straight hair seem mismatched. But but but... I'm just not cut out for contact lens.

1. My two 咪咪眼 (very small eyes) will not look nice without specs.
2. Both are stupidly dry except when I'm watching dramas/movies. How ironic.
3. Daily disposables are unfriendly as they cost a bomb for those with astigmatism.
4. Bi-weekly and monthly disposables are not for the lazy me - cleaning contact lens is such a chore.
5. I've less problem 'sticking' them in than 'pulling' them out (probably cos too dry).
6. Contacts often make my eyes 'reddish' - hmm, risky of infection *I'm scared*

So, here I am, still stucked with the ugly duckling specs option which require the least maintenance. The best possible thing I could do is... tada... get a trendier pair lor (what else?)... in the hope that it'll look nicer on me! Anyway, I gotten one for free... I just 'tag' along... GX paid 20% and the other 80% just claim ;p

Hmm, actually Lasik is probably the solution to all these troubles...
Maybe I should just go for it some day...
Now, I'm still the woman in specs...

Mediocre supervision

How true...
The ones who should have noticed the problematic signs didn't...
cos' they decided to spend less time on it due to their supposedly busy schedule...

Deep shit.
sigh...

Happy Birthday to Pong Pong

Is ahpunehneh a proper word?

For your own safety, refrain from using ahpunehneh...

I seriously had enough of all your "ahpunehneh" rubbish, holding noses and all racist acts. And parents, if your kid points and says "ahpunehneh", correct him/her. Don't you freaking ignore it or worse encourage it. If i see one more kid look in my general direction and say "ahpunehneh", i will throttle him/her til he can't remember the rubbish ever again. I swear i will do it. Because i had enough. - Frozenqueen
More...

But the irony is... not all our ahpunehneh Indian friends here find this word offensive, it seems... for there's a group who named their blog: ahpunehneh
