elements beneath the sky...

Owning 2 masks - featuring my true self & the other self... I've drifted from the normal path. Juz some thoughts, opinions, complaints, gossips, bullshits... beneath the boundaryless sky that we share.

Name:

I am... by my own standards... a simple, sincere, average-looking scopio who can be both quiet and crazy; one who needs time to warm up to people; a homebody; sometimes impatient and stubborn, and erm, a mech engineer who doesn't look and sound like one.

The Law of Attraction

I was introduced to many laws and theories throughout my long educational journey.
This is, by far, the hardest to grasp.
The Law of Attraction, in essence:
What You Think Is What You Get.

According to Jim Rohn, one of the world's leading motivational speaker, philosopher and entrepreneur:
Success is not to be pursued;
it is to be attracted by the person we become.

Your reality represents what is going through your mind and subconscious mind. Your attitude will be reflected back to you by the attitude of those close to you and around you on a daily basis.

Perhaps most engineering-trained pple like me will settle for something that's more scientific-based than belief-based (Hence, I'm not surprised why some of my colleagues even joked about it once in a while). I believe this law of attraction only to a certain extent -- I believe in the need to flood my mind with positive, motivating thoughts and feelings. However, I feel that what you think may sometimes not be what you get because of our own actions, actions of those around us, the law of karma, etc. will also come into play.

Today, I lost my Badge & access card before lunch time. I reported the loss to the security, got the temporarily pass, and somehow didn't really give a damn. I'm not sure why. Along the way to lunch, WF & ZY triggered some thoughts in me by joking about the Law of Attraction and suggest that I think about getting my badge back. On a serious note, within me, I did think and hope someone would pick it up and return it to security. But I have doubts though and I played along... told them that I could visualize the return of my pass... even held out my hands and I told them that I could feel my pass already. They laughed and told me not to think too much in case I go crazy (走火入魔). Of course I won't. Subconsciously whether I did continue to think or not, I have no idea. We changed topic and discussed what to eat, etc... bought our food and got a seat. Within five minutes after we sat, an unfamiliar guy walked towards me and returned me my pass. I was grateful and yet shocked at the same time. Amazing. Is this the result of the 'Law of Attraction'?!? I've to be very frank, I'm still unsure but I guess I won't dismiss it entirely.
