elements beneath the sky...

Owning 2 masks - featuring my true self & the other self... I've drifted from the normal path. Juz some thoughts, opinions, complaints, gossips, bullshits... beneath the boundaryless sky that we share.

Name:

I am... by my own standards... a simple, sincere, average-looking scopio who can be both quiet and crazy; one who needs time to warm up to people; a homebody; sometimes impatient and stubborn, and erm, a mech engineer who doesn't look and sound like one.

Why my MIO isn't working...

Why my MIO isn't working?

It is not because of the modem, it is not because of faulty microfilters, wrong connections or wrong settings, guess what's wrong?
...
...
...
It's because the telephone wiring at the main box was cut!!!

Only two possibilities...
1. Sabotage by neighbour downstairs;
2. Singtel's contractor's fault (not sure if our neighbour called them in or what?)... but even then, what's their SOP on cutting/pulling out the lines (wiring) which they thought was no longer in use?

I suspect it's (1) but still... I called up Singtel 1608 (24hrs Telephone Fault Reporting) to check if any Singtel's contractor had come to do maintenance/servicing/etc and they told me they have no idea. Didn't they have any records? I asked the operator if there is anyone I can speak to or call regarding this matter... she don't know, her supervisor also don't know...?!?

*I want to find the culprit who is responsible for this downtime... can't send out important documents on time, can't check work related emails, can't retrieve important documents from my work PC...*
=(

----------------

Hopefully we can move house soon... neighbours can make living in a particular place very tiresome - both mentally and physically. It's so untidy, so unattractive, so potentially-dangerous (health related), so... so sianz, haiz, we give up!
Just try to imagine why they don't even hold the 敬茶仪式 for their son's wedding at their own landed property and got to rent some HDB spot instead...

We are so dying to get rid of this place... so much so that we don't even bother to replace our faulty antenna. Temporary solution: maybe subscribe to MioTV first.

I imagined, I conceptualized, I realized...
I and only I, if you realized.
But SOP dictates otherwise,
And so he was included.

It's so close to completion, so close to being mine (and well, his)...
The one last step which he could and have agreed to help, he chooses not to.
Instead, he tries to bullshit me, screw things up, and make things difficult for me.
Great! That's how people reciprocate...

Whether he's vindictive, ignorant, or whatever... (I seriously don't wish to elaborate on each)
He has made the first move,
and has intendedly forced the ball back into my court.
I shall have to re-evaluate, and if need be, act to make it happen.

The considerations would be the intrinsic and monetary values of it -- hmm, is it worth spending more than $4k for it? Or should I just let it go?

I have embarked on a journey that is beyond my comfort zone but I have no regrets.
I'm glad I didn't pick the other... for emails which I'm expecting replies somehow never will come (fed-up!!!); for there would be no chance of learning how to become a good leader (how to when you are probably the single soul working on any projects in a room with a 'population' of three); for I would end up learning from probably myself and the books/papers around me (what's the point?); for I would be stuck writing or doing things which are too academic for my liking (I'm a practical person)...

Ladies, Start Your Engine...

The bbq I had at Reg's place made me realize...

  • None of them are engineers except me - Not yet, but well, very soon. They were either bankers or consultants... in short, all business related. I could have steered clear of it (by accepting the other academic job offer that came at the same time) but decided to jump into the industrial 'outdated-bandwagon' again for the sake of having some practical fun (lots of shit included though, sorta expected!), useful hands-on and knowledge in a related field. Keeping my fingers crossed about the part in which I'm making life difficult for myself by choosing this challenging path instead of the other apparently relaxed one.

After spending 2.5 months in US...

  • On any single day in Singapore, I am able to spot people here driving even more recklessly than in US. I seldom see motorists coming to a complete stop at stop signs. Motorists here don't quite give a damn to the pedestrians/cyclists.
  • US is definitely a much more disabled-friendly place to live in.
  • I love wearing jackets and simply hate the weather here... too hot and humid.
  • I'm not exactly sure of my degree of lactose intolerance but I like the Lactaid lactose & fat free milk I drink in US and I'm finding it difficult to locate them here.
  • At the moment, I do have some difficulties pinpointing why I should live & work in SIN except that my loved ones are residing here and a two-year contractual obligation to fulfill.

Getting back to the shitty regime again... Urrggghhhh!

It's again... Lots of things to do... too little time. Grrrrr...

Need to get my engine started... boooomm... brroooommmm...
