I must say the AH brochure was misleading. I was almost tricked and had to explain the marketing gimmick to my dad. The negative remarks on some forums also made me a little skeptical about it.
My parents have been sourcing around for a TV after our old Sony decided to retire some time back. They went to a few places to 'research/bargain' for the best price for Philips 42PFL9532 Full HD LCD TV (with Perfect Pixel HD Engine, 2-Channel Ambilight, 100Hz, 3ms response time, 3x HDMI inputs). In the end, my dad went ahead to buy Philips 42PFL9532 from AH since they were able to give us a price that is S$449 off the anniversary promotional price offered by Courts. Seriously, we have no idea what we should do with the extra FREE 20" LCD TV... to avoid all the fuss, my dad sold it to AH for S$400 cash.
The lowest price and their willingness to buy the 20" LCD made the deal. Not this 60% rebate gimmick - this is only something additional. Despite so, we do look forward to the draw and guess what... we
WON $2,370!!! woo hoo... Though it's in voucher, this amount come in really handy as we do have quite a bit of old electrical appliances to replace. Will update later on what we buy... yippee!
