elements beneath the sky...

Owning 2 masks - featuring my true self & the other self... I've drifted from the normal path. Juz some thoughts, opinions, complaints, gossips, bullshits... beneath the boundaryless sky that we share.

Name:

I am... by my own standards... a simple, sincere, average-looking scopio who can be both quiet and crazy; one who needs time to warm up to people; a homebody; sometimes impatient and stubborn, and erm, a mech engineer who doesn't look and sound like one.

Cable ski... Shiok!

Had a go at cable ski last weekend and I'm now aching all over. Unless you are good at picking it up, be prepared for lots of what they call - "roti prata" (almost equivalent to the action of being flipped and slammed onto the hard surface)… not so scary though… just smashed into the water that’s all – no big deal… with perhaps some water into your nose or mouth ;p. I probably never opened my mouth, so water went into my nose instead (at least I didn’t get to taste the “don’t-know-what’s-inside” water unlike some others I know). The consolation for those who fell into the water at points relatively far off from the starting point… you get to have a free ride on the scooter… yup, the scooter will bring you back to the starting point.

Pong is good – impressed. He did so much better than most of us. Kneeboard – he could, at one go, complete three rounds when most of us could only manage 4/5 of one round before we “thom” into the water. See the difference. For wakeboard, he can complete one whole round when I only manage up to half round before I tumble (I think I’m just not gifted but luckily I had the perseverance to keep trying – I’m still satisfied with my little achievement).

Unfortunately, not everyone could do it at the end of the day… a bit of “chiu ka na kar, kar ka na chiu” (don’t scold me cos’ I was not the one who said this – one of the joker who didn’t make it said so). (Eh, if u haven’t done it, don’t laugh cos u may be worse off… kekek ;p). In order to do it, u simply need to grasp the idea of tucking in & locking your hands for that split seconds where you will feel the tension & sudden jerk, lean back (must always remember this, else you will fall face flat into the water before you can even take off), and allow the cable to pull you (and not the other way round), and balance… no matter how much it’s said, ultimately you just need to try to find out how to do it.

In short… it’s thrilling and challenging. The feeling of moving on the water surface is simply indescribable. Shiok. I’ll definitely be back for more…
